50 Years of CSPA-NYS

2017 marked the 50th anniversary of the College Student Personnel Association of New York State.  This tremendous milestone was recognized through a year-long celebration kicked off in Buffalo, NY at the 2016 Annual Conference and culminated in Corning, NY at the 2017 Annual Conference.  The year of celebration included a series of special events and initiatives focused on engaging with both current and past members of the association's rich history.  To facilitate this planning, the CSPA-NYS board approved the creation of a 50th Anniversary Task Force.

Golden Anniversary Membership

Golden Anniversary Membership was a special 2017 campaign that celebrated 50 years of CSPA-NYS and directly supported ongoing and new initiatives and programs for CSPA-NYS members, including professional development and research grants and scholarships.  CSPA-NYS members joined the campaign by making a monetary donation of $20, $30, or $50 in addition to their annual membership dues.  Thank you, Golden Anniversary Members!

2017 Annual Conference and 50th Anniversary Gala

The 2017 Annual Conference in Corning, NY was the culmination of the 50th Anniversary celebration.  Special anniversary highlights included a "50 Years of CSPA-NYS" Museum, keynote speakers reflecting on the history and future of the association and profession, and a 50th Anniversary Gala at the Corning Museum of Glass on Monday, October 16, 2017.

CSPA-NYS Memories

Throughout 2017 the Annual Conference Team collected artifacts for a CSPA-NYS Museum.  Artifacts included apparel, pins, promotional items, or any other piece of CSPA-NYS history.

50th Anniversary Task Force

To facilitate the celebration of the 50th Anniversary, the CSPA-NYS board approved the creation of a 50th Anniversary Task Force.  Task force members were recruited in the summer of 2016.
